2 weeks to go until Swing4Saltire

We hope to see many new sponsors this year, not only in the Houston area, but from right across Scotland. This is an opportunity to raise awareness for the Saltire Programmes and Scotland’s profile around the world, so please, get involved, sign up and donate to this ever growing, ever inspiring cause.

This year our Houston Scholars are organizing the 4th annual ‘Swing4Saltire’ golf fundraiser – an event taking place on July 28th at the River Ridge Golf Club. The aim of this event is to raise money for the Saltire Foundation USA and awareness of the Saltire Scholars Programme and Entrepreneurial Scotland. Through organising and marketing the event, the Scholars hope to top last year’s total of $17,000 – by no means an easy feat.

This year we have a total of 10 Scholars in Houston, working for Amplify Energy, Vepica, Ethos Energy and Wood Mackenzie, who are determined to make this the best Swing4Saltire event yet. The Scholars have to search for, gain and deliver sponsorship deals, raffle prizes and of course, players. On a shotgun start, the players of the tournament will compete over two 9-hole courses in teams of four, battling it out to discover who truly is the best at golf, the Americans or the Scots!

Last year many companies, including Wood Group, Fifth Ring, BABC and Reel Group, supported the event. With sponsors receiving varying amounts of marketing and advertisement, this is a great way for your company to get itsname out in the diverse and ever-populated Houston economy. If you wish to support the event then there are many ways to get involved. Either contact saltiregolfhouston@gmail.com directly with your query, or visit the Swing4Saltire Golf Day website at https://squareup.com/market/saltire-foundation and follow the links.  Donations can also be pledged via Paypal.

The funds raised will enable the next generation of business leaders, from across Scotland, to be discovered and exposed to the world of work, further developing their skills and attributes. Through opportunities such as the Saltire Scholars Programme, Scotland has the potential to become one of the most entrepreneurial countries in the world.

We hope to see many new sponsors this year, not only in the Houston area, but from right across Scotland. This is an opportunity to raise awareness for the Saltire Programmes and Scotland’s profile around the world, so please, get involved, sign up and donate to this ever growing, ever inspiring cause.
