Applications Open for the 2019 Saltire Scholar Internship Programme
Entrepreneurial Scotland is delighted to announce that applications for the 2019 Saltire Scholar Internship Programme are now open!
The Scholars Programme offers fully funded internships to penultimate year undergraduate students from Scottish universities. Saltire Scholar internships provide Scotland’s most talented individuals with the opportunity to work with leading organisations and work alongside global thought leaders, providing them with the experience required to establish their careers and create the next generation of business leaders in Scotland.
If you are interested in applying and meet our eligibility criteria, please click here to sign up to the application platform.
Applications are open until 11.59pm on Tuesday 13th November 2018. Application outcomes will be conveyed to candidates on 10th December and the next stage of the process will involve speed interviews in January. Successful interviewees will then go on to join our candidate pool and receive lists of the internship opportunities available.
2019 marks the 12th year of the Saltire Programmes and Entrepreneurial Scotland hopes to build on the success of 2018, which saw 171 students from 15 universities across Scotland take part in meaningful internships in 49 different cities across the world. The programme worked with 70 host companies spanning sectors such as financial services, fashion, oil & gas, technology, life science and media. Some project highlights included being interviewed on local Nebraska television for a feature on opportunities for young people in agriculture, creating a feasibility study for a new visitor centre at Edinburgh Airport, suggesting methods for a major US fashion brand to become more sustainable and fundraising over £8000 for the Entrepreneurial Scotland Foundation.
2018 Liberty Mutual Scholar, Max Penman said of his experience, “I love the level of responsibility I’ve been given; work that I have been producing is getting shown to the decision makers in the company and findings I've put forward are being acted on.”
Applications for the programme must be submitted via our online platform and further information can be found on our website.
The Saltire Scholar Team look forward to receiving high-quality applications for the 2019 programme and would like to take this opportunity to wish all candidates the best of luck!
