There was something seriously lacking in the industry for commuters offering the technical aspect in stylish designs.
We started Meander because we couldn't find great outerwear to cycle in when we planned a charity cycle from London to Paris to raise money for Wooden Spoon. Steve (my business partner and husband) then took part in an expedition to the North Pole a week after we cycled to Paris where they set a world record for the most Northern Game of Ruby played and collectively the team raised a substantial amount of money for the charity. We discussed cycle clothing a lot on the trip and were all in agreement that there was something seriously lacking in the industry for commuters offering the technical aspect in stylish designs.
I spent the next 2 years, researching the bike industry, designing and developing a number of styles that are now ready to take to market. We've sourced fabrics from a high-end performance mill in Italy and teamed up with a specialist outerwear manufacturer to develop a unique and multi functioning jacket that is designed with style and performance in equal measure. My background is in the clothing industry and previously managed production, development and sourcing for high end fashion brands and designers such as House of Holland and French Connection.
Following our campaign we're looking for investment to take our business to the next level and offer a full range of sustainable outerwear for cyclists and outdoor lovers.
We are now planning the launch on Indiegogo at the end of March meanderapparel.com
