Chairman of Entrepreneurial Scotland

Since joining Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) in April 2007, Colin has led the company’s transition from a predominantly UK-focused business to an international player in the bus and coach manufacturing sector.

Under Colin’s leadership, ADL has grown rapidly, with annual sales revenues in excess of £630m.  A commitment to delivering customer-centric solutions and a focus on international expansion, while maintaining a domestic market leadership position have been central to this successful, sustained growth trajectory. In May 2019, ADL was acquired by Canadian bus manufacturer NFI Group.  The ADL brand will be retained and Colin, who has led the growth and internationalisation of the company over twelve years, will continue to lead ADL. He has also been tasked with driving NFI’s international growth ambitions.

Colin has over 36 years of senior international manufacturing experience gained from leading global companies including Cummins Engines, Case Corporation and Terex Corporation where he held the role of Executive VP of Global Operations and President of the $2bn Construction Division. Colin’s significant achievements have been recognised by Ernst and Young, the Institute of Directors and more recently Entrepreneurial Scotland, of which he was appointed Chairman in summer 2018.
