Jane Richardson joined Entrepreneurial Scotland as Communications Director in April 2016. Working with Communications agency, Spreng Thomson, she develops and oversees the delivery of the media and public relations strategy and advises the Entrepreneurial Scotland team on stakeholder engagement and the execution of the communications plan.
Jane is a highly experienced strategic communications professional. Among a range of senior roles with the global drinks company, Diageo, she was Corporate Relations Director, Scotland and prior to that Global Communications Director, based in London. As a legacy of the Ryder Cup 2014 at Gleneagles, she led the introduction of Diageo’s global Learning for Life programme in Scotland - a £5 million commitment over five years to tackle youth employment providing skills in hospitality, retail and entrepreneurship. 55 Learning for Life programmes were subsequently run in 21 locations across Great Britain and 71% of the programme graduates went into employment.
Her earlier career experience includes roles with Scottish and Southern Energy, Logica (now CGI Group) and De La Rue.
She is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh (LLB Honours) and holds Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
