Guidance Notes for Part Two:

  • All five questions must be completed.
  • You may answer the questions in written or video format but please only answer each question once.
  • Spend some time thinking about your answers to ensure you are providing full and detailed information.
  • We recommend that you write or record your answers in advance of completing the form.
  • Once you have prepared your answers you can then transfer/upload them on to the application form.
  • Please keep a copy of your answers to protect yourself in the event of a technical issue.
  • Please draw from a variety of experience when answering. Your examples should be recent or on-going. Using historic examples, e.g. from high school, does not reflect your current level of skill or ability.
  • Most questions are seeking examples of when you have demonstrated the corresponding competency. Please use the STAR (situation, task, action, result) structure or similar structure when possible.
  • Questions are ascertaining your individual contribution to situations rather than what you did collectively with others. Please articulate your answers, e.g. ‘I did this by…’ rather than ‘We did this by…’
  • Applications are open for almost one month, giving candidates plenty of time to work on their applications. Please ensure you proofread your application thoroughly, please seek support and guidance from your university’s career service.
  • All answers have been allocated a word count which is made clear to the candidate who should be using this as an indicator as to the depth of answer required. Candidates should be utilising the majority of the word count allocated in order to get across a good level of detail.

Technical Advice:

  • The application form will time-out after 20 minutes (hence why we recommend that you prepare your answers in advance).
  • If your application does time-out and you receive an error/oops message after submitting, your answers will be lost, and you will have to start over.
  • We recommend using Chrome for best results.
  • Ensure that you are using the most up to date version of your browser.
  • Please ensure all other tabs relating to our application are closed.
  • Clear the cookies.
