A few words about my experience at SNC-Lavalin

Through my time at SNC-Lavalin, I have gained many skills that allow me to make a difference in the workplace. I now understand how a workplace operates and have gained experience in contributing meaningful work as part of a team. I now understand that communication is one of the most important skills in the workplace. This is because it is crucial to be able to communicate complex ideas effectively so that other members of your team can understand and act on the information given.

I was able to connect with several amazing people throughout the company that really helped to guide me throughout my experience. Each of the people I met during my time at SNC always strived to make sure my time there was as challenging and rewarding as possible. I will be sure to stay in contact throughout my professional career and hope to be working with them again in the future.

This internship has given me the opportunity to better understand myself as an individual through international experience. I have gained so much confidence in my ability to contribute work in an environment that may have been somewhat intimidating only a few months ago. I have worked on designs for a world-renowned nuclear reactor, a small modular reactor. The first of a kind that if successful could change the future of the nuclear industry. Being able to contribute to such a project has fuelled my ambition and I hope to play a role in its development further in the future.

This experience has been incredible and has truly shaped my character in a positive manner by building my core skills both professionally and personally. In only a few short months my life has been forever changed by the opportunity this internship has given me. I was also lucky to share this experience with some amazing people who I am sure will become lasting friends.
