Over 150 students from Scottish universities are set to start life-changing internships this summer as part of the Saltire Scholar Internship Programme, delivered by Entrepreneurial Scotland.
The Saltire Scholar Internship Programme enables penultimate and final year undergraduate students to experience an eight to twelve week internship with leading global organisations, where students have the opportunity to work on a dedicated project across a range of subjects including business change, marketing, finance, STEM and community development.
The programme aims to support students in developing the leadership qualities and the entrepreneurial mindset needed to help make Scotland one of the most entrepreneurial societies in the world.
After a rigorous selection process from over 1000 applicants, 150+ students have been talent matched with over 70 host companies from 50 cities across the world, including internships in Scotland, the UK, USA, Canada and Europe. For the first time in three years, the majority of internships will take place in person, allowing this year’s cohort to experience a range of different workplace and national cultures.
The programme is thrilled to partner with over 70 host companies this year who will offer the 2022 Saltire Scholars internship opportunities across a range of sectors, including technology, manufacturing, engineering, biotech, science, finance and media. 2022 host companies include global organisations like SharkNinja, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Social Investment Scotland, Intelligent Growth Solutions, Beam Suntory US and more.
Programme Leader, Kelly Glass, said it’s a monumental moment for the programme, after Covid-19 has impacted opportunities for the students.

The Saltire Scholar Internship Programme is calling for all penultimate and final year students to register their interest in the 2023 Programme, which kicks off in August 2022.
