The deadline for applying to the 2021 Saltire Scholars programme has now passed.
The classes of 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 will have their university experiences shaped by the COVID-19 situation, but one of the many merits of the Saltire Scholars programme is that it reminds businesses — in Scotland and beyond — that there is a wealth of fresh, driven, digitally-native talent here who are ready for opportunities, learning and project-focused work to get their teeth into.
Fiona Hardie, Saltire Scholar Programme Executive: “The students applying to be a part of our Programme are incredibly motivated to gain paid internship experiences in 2021; the quality of online applications the Scholar Team saw this year was of an exceptional standard, with the progression rate to the next stage much higher than previous years. In addition, the variety of disciplines among applicants is to be noted: we have seen students studying subjects from Accountancy to Pharmacology to Theatre, showcasing the wealth of transferable skills available to potential Host Companies."
With the next round of our thorough candidate assessment process — speed interviews — coming up in early 2021, here are the key facts and figures now that the Saltire Scholars application deadline has passed:
