Unlocking International Ambition Project

In late 2021, a ‘Unlocking International Ambition’ project was launched in partnership with Entrepreneurial Scotland, with the aim to research and present international market and growth opportunities for several cohort companies.

This research and consultancy was recently undertaken and delivered by selected alumni of the Saltire Scholar Internship programme, with the added support of Scottish Enterprise’s research service, with the specific outcome of supercharging Scotland’s exporting ambitions.

Sean McGrath CEO, said of the project “The Unlocking Ambition founders have had the opportunity to work with the best and brightest individuals that have come out of Scottish Universities, their success is Scotland’s success."

Unlocking Ambition is Scotland’s flagship entrepreneurial development programme, initiated by the First Minister for Scotland and delivered by Scottish Enterprise. It supports highly ambitious entrepreneurs from across Scotland; chosen for their individual potential, the quality of their ideas and the contribution they can make to the environment, the economy and wider society. The Accelerator’s goal is to unlock the ambitions and skills of this cohort of entrepreneurs through business development and leadership support, which will ultimately create and safeguard jobs within the ecosystem, whilst establishing new opportunities for business.

Having gained a global perspective through their Scholar internships and with a strong desire to support Scottish businesses expand overseas, the Scholar Alumni who took part in the Unlocking International Ambition project were well placed to conduct this research on behalf of the Unlocking Ambition founders. Congratulations to: Mark Burnett and Rosie Beattie who worked with Jump Ship Brewing, Keava Low who worked with Fodilicious, Roshni Advani who worked with Wilderness Scotland, James Simmonds who worked with Earth Blox and Anastasia Roscia who worked with Waire Health.
